Suranaree University of Technology plants 335 trees to celebrate its 35th anniversary.

Today (July 24, 2025), Professor Dr. Wicharn Panich, President of the University Council, and Associate Professor Dr. Anan Thongra-ar, President, along with administrators, faculty, staff, and students of Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), planted trees to commemorate the 35th anniversary of SUT's founding. The event took place at the SUT 8th Anniversary Forest Park and behind Equipment Buildings 1-3. The event aimed to promote SUT community participation in environmental conservation and the development of green spaces within the university, contributing to the creation of a "Green University of Innovation" and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This year, a total of 335 trees were planted, including 135 golden trumpet trees, the university's official tree, and 100 golden willow trees. Another 100 trees, such as the teak, sala, and golden shower trees, were planted as a mixed forest. This effort aims to develop the existing forest area and provide a more utilitarian and relaxing space for the university. Furthermore, a display of trees planted by SUT staff over the past 20 years on the university grounds will also be displayed.
