Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), MEA (MEA), and SSO integrate cooperation in power management towards the goal of sustainable development in energy and the environment.

Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), in collaboration with the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) and the Synchrotron Light Research Institute (Public Organization) (SRI), signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on "Research and Development of Innovations in Electricity Management Towards Carbon Neutrality and Net Zero Emissions." This collaboration integrates higher education institutions, state enterprises, and national research institutions to enhance research and efficient electric power management, further advancing the resolution of Thailand's key energy and environmental issues and global challenges sustainably.

The event was honored by Associate Professor Dr. Rangsan Wongsan, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Digital Technology and Innovation Management, Metropolitan Electricity Authority, who delivered the opening address. Associate Professor Dr. Anan Thongra-ar, President of Suranaree University of Technology; Mr. Pipat Chon-ampai, Deputy Governor for Distribution System Services, Metropolitan Electricity Authority; and Mr. Samroeng Duangnil, Deputy Director of Technical and Engineering Support, Synchrotron Light Research Institute (Public Organization). The memorandum of understanding was also signed by Associate Professor Dr. Pornsiri Jongkol, Dean of the School of Engineering; Assistant Professor Dr. Teerawat Sinsiri, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, SUT; executives, faculty, and other distinguished guests. The ceremony took place on September 2, 2025, at Meeting Room 402, Wattanawipas Building, Metropolitan Electricity Authority Headquarters, Bangkok.

Suranaree University of Technology, through the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), and the Synchrotron Light Research Institute (Public Organization), will collaborate on integrating knowledge and technology to enhance research and innovation in electrical energy management. This collaboration covers everything from supporting testing and product analysis, exchanging knowledge and personnel, and promoting commercialization of research and innovation. This collaboration will enhance the country's competitiveness and generate tangible economic, social, and environmental outcomes, contributing to the goals of sustainable development.
