SUT: identify areas where energy waste

Energy Auditing in the Context of Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) Energy auditing at SUT begins with collecting energy usage data from all parts of the university, such as academic buildings, research buildings, student dormitories, and various utility systems. Analyzing this data helps identify areas with excessive energy consumption, such as air conditioning systems in large academic buildings, lighting in public areas, and the use of high-energy-demanding scientific research equipment.

Guidelines for Improving Energy Efficiency at Suranaree University of Technology (SUT): Utilization of energy-saving technologies: SUT can install automated control systems for switching air conditioners and lighting on and off in buildings to reduce energy consumption during periods of non-use. Increasing the efficiency of research machinery and equipment: Maintaining machinery to its maximum efficiency and switching to equipment with energy-saving standards will help reduce energy loss. Awareness campaigns: SUT can organize programs to educate students and personnel about efficient energy use, and promote energy conservation in daily life through the announcement of the Energy Efficiency Policy (No. 2) B.E. 2566 (2023).

Event

Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) has implemented a Building Automation System (BAS) to manage energy and monitor the operation of various systems within the building. This system aims to identify and reduce energy loss efficiently by using computer and electronic technology to automatically control, monitor, and manage key building systems.

The main components of the BAS system that help reduce energy loss include: Air Conditioning System: Optimizing temperature and air conditioning operation to reduce unnecessary energy consumption. Sanitary System: Monitoring water and energy usage in the sanitary system for efficient operation. Fire Extinguishing System: Ensuring optimal functioning without energy waste. Lighting System: Automatically controlling light switching based on time and actual usage to reduce energy waste. Fire Alarm System and Security System: Efficient energy use through automation. Indoor Transportation System: Managing elevator and escalator usage based on actual usage. The use of the BAS system enables the university to systematically detect, analyze, and reduce energy loss, thereby improving the energy efficiency of the large building. And to support the university's efforts in achieving its energy conservation and sustainability goals.
