SUT: Important role in services for industry

Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) is sharing its knowledge on managing organizational carbon footprints to support the drive towards a Net Zero carbon footprint goal.

Suranaree University of Technology, through its Greenhouse Gas Management Accreditation Unit, Technopolis, conducted a workshop on "Management of Carbon Footprint for Organizations (CFO)" for executives, faculty, and staff from Wongchavalitkul University. Dr. Worasiri De Cadenet, a faculty member in the Environmental Engineering Department, School of Engineering, Suranaree University of Technology, and Head of the Greenhouse Gas Management Accreditation Unit, Technopolis, served as the lecturer.

The training aimed to transfer knowledge and enhance the capacity of external organizations in preparing organizational carbon footprint (CFO) data.

It covered topics such as calculating and reporting organizational greenhouse gas emissions, data collection methods and identifying emission sources, emission assessment, and creating Verification Sheets based on case studies. Furthermore, guidance was provided on preparing data for inclusion in the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization's (TGO) Net Zero database system, a platform for collecting and managing data on greenhouse gas emission and removal certifications. This supports organizations in achieving their Net Zero goals sustainably. This activity reflects Suranaree University of Technology's role in promoting learning, providing academic services, and disseminating knowledge on energy management and greenhouse gas emission reduction to the wider community.
