Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) is committed to implementing projects and activities that promote health and well-being among local communities, especially disadvantaged groups, displaced persons, and refugees, enabling them to live strong and healthy lives. This reflects SUT's social responsibility in improving the quality of life for all people in the community through creating opportunities and access to quality healthcare services. This addresses diverse needs and fosters sustainable long-term well-being. In 2024, the following projects were implemented to promote community health:
The Royal Dental Unit, a collaboration between Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), Maharaj Nakorn Ratchasima Hospital, Sikhiu Hospital, and SUT Hospital, provides dental services to underprivileged people in remote areas and targets for specialized dental care.
The Royal Dental Unit of the School of Dentistry, Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), in collaboration with the Royal Dental Unit of Maharaj Nakorn Ratchasima Hospital, along with Sikhiu Hospital and Suranaree University of Technology Hospital, organized the "Royal Dental Unit Service" activity as part of the project to provide dental services to underprivileged people in remote areas and specialized service target groups. The event took place on August 17, 2024, at the Royal Project for Plant Genetic Conservation (RPPGC), Sikhiu District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. Associate Professor Dr. Anan Thongra-a, President of Suranaree University of Technology, presided over the opening ceremony, and Professor Dr. Pasutha Thanyakitpaisan, Dean of the School of Dentistry, SUT, gave a welcoming speech.
Assistant Professor Dr. Paiboon Jitprasertwong, Chairman of the Royal Dental Unit at Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), gave a report and led a team of faculty members, dentists, and dental students from SUT to volunteer and provide free dental services to 120 people. They worked alongside dental personnel from Maharaj Nakorn Ratchasima Hospital, Suranaree University of Technology Hospital, Sikhiu Hospital, and leading health network personnel in the area. This initiative aimed to alleviate illness, promote public knowledge of oral health care, encourage holistic health care, and serve as a merit-making act dedicated to His Majesty the King and the Royal Family.
