Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) continuously monitors and collects data on waste generated within the university, categorizing it into general waste, recyclable waste, organic waste, and hazardous waste. This data is used to plan and improve waste management for greater efficiency. The monitoring is conducted by the university's environmental unit to assess waste trends, promote recycling, and reduce the amount of waste requiring disposal. This ensures the university's operations are environmentally friendly and aligned with sustainable development principles. SUT's environmental report for September 2025 demonstrates efficient waste management and recycling. The amount of solid waste generated in September was 317.83 tons per month, comprising 223.54 tons from the university area and 94.29 tons from Suranaree Subdistrict Municipality. The total amount of solid waste for the year (October 2024 - September 2025) is 3,446.86 tons, consisting of 2,359.91 tons from the university area and 1,086.95 tons from Suranaree Subdistrict Municipality.

97.93% of waste is reused, for example through recycling and fertilizer production, while only 2.07% needs disposal. This generates an average income of 79,261 baht per month and helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 205 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per month.
