SUT: Free public access to open spaces and green spaces

Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) is located in the suburban district of Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima province, encompassing green spaces including natural forests, planted forests, and ponds. The location of SUT was carefully selected for the restoration of degraded forests, emphasizing the use of forest land only where necessary to avoid damaging the ecosystem. Furthermore, SUT continuously engages in reforestation and restoration through various activities, having to restore over 6,009 rai of degraded forest to date. SUT also implements sustainable environmental management and designs green and smart buildings to promote a high quality of life on campus. People can relax, breathe fresh air, take walks, exercise, and enjoy sunsets amidst the tranquility and close proximity to nature. Other activities include cycling, jogging, and picnicking in the shady surroundings, ideal for relaxing with family and friends. In addition, SUT has an efficient energy management policy and focuses on energy conservation to respond to climate change. SUT provides free access to green spaces and open areas for students, staff, and the general public to engage in activities and relaxation.

Ang Sura 2 Healthy Park

Angsura 2 Health Park, also known as Sam Saen Pond (meaning "Three Hundred Thousand Pond"), is a popular spot for relaxation and exercise, especially for students, faculty, and staff alike. People from outside the university also enjoy walking their dogs along the paths surrounding the pond, as the park is lush with trees, reflecting its abundant natural beauty. During the rainy season, you can often see green butterflies fluttering along the paths in the mornings. It's also the location of the Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) Rowing Club. The path around the pond is also part of the route for the Royal Commemoration Walk-Run and other activities promoting the health of students, faculty, staff, and the general public. Most recently, the SUT Sports and Health Center organized the SHC Fun Run 2024, a 5-kilometer walk/run, on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 5:00 PM, offering special services such as muscle relaxation massages and scenic boat rides around Sam Saen Pond.

Tree Tunnel

The "Tree Tunnel" at Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) is a tunnel of tall, curving rain trees within the university grounds. Planted by students and staff approximately 20 years ago, these rain trees have grown to provide shade along the university's internal roads, creating a beautiful tree tunnel over 500 meters long. The SUT Tree Tunnel now attracts visitors from all over for photo opportunities, including pre-wedding shoots, graduation photos, and casual pictures, all due to its stunning beauty. The tunnel is located near Gates 3 and 4 of SUT, close to important landmarks such as the university farm, the Sam Saen Pond, and staff housing.

Symbolic Park of SUT

"SUT Symbol Plaza" refers to the plaza featuring the symbol of Suranaree University of Technology (SUT). The university's emblem comprises the image of Thao Suranari at the center, representing the university's philosophy and core mission, emphasizing respect and reverence for Thao Suranari as a national heroine. Two parallel, overlapping, curved lines on either side symbolize continuous technological achievement and endless progress. Abstract imagery of plants and gears supports the base of Thao Suranari, representing agriculture and industry. The SUT Symbol Plaza is a significant location within the university, used for various activities such as graduation ceremonies, the symbolic worship ceremony on university founding day, and the Thao Suranari homage ceremony for new SUT students. It is also a popular spot for students and the general public to take記念 photos due to its prominent university symbol.

Arts and Culture Plaza (Learning Park)

The Arts and Culture Plaza at Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), also known by students as the "Mor Lam Plaza," is a large open space within the university used for arts and cultural activities. This includes art performances, exhibitions, local cultural events, and other activities that promote the cultural diversity of the local community. It also serves as a venue for student clubs to showcase their work, which is open to the general public.

Suranapa Tower

Suranaree University of Technology's landmark building, "Suranaree University of Technology's Suranaree Tower," was graciously opened in November 1995 by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Built as a symbolic structure for the 1995 World Agricultural and Industrial Exhibition (WORLDTECH'95 Thailand), it stands as the tallest building in Nakhon Ratchasima province. Its beautiful lotus-shaped design makes it a stunning sight. The tower, measuring 82.3 meters (equivalent to a 25-story building), is located within the Technopolis of SUT and offers panoramic views of the university during important festivals. Both elevators and stairs are available for visitors to access the observation deck. Often nicknamed "Suranaree University of Technology's 'Heaw Tower'" by students, it's a favorite spot for SUT students and visitors alike, providing unique and beautiful views whether capturing the sunrise, the lush greenery of the surrounding nature during the day, or the golden hues of the sunset in the evening. The towering structure offers breathtaking views of the vast Technopolis grounds. We are confident that everyone will find photos filled with emotion and vibrant colors that are truly unique.

Suranitath Building or Amphitheater

The Suranitath Building, also known as the "Amphitheater," is an outdoor performance venue. With a capacity of approximately 2,000 people, it's a spacious open-air stage with tiered seating in a semicircular arrangement. It's used for a variety of events, including art performances, musical performances, cultural activities, ceremonies, and creative activities in a natural setting. The amphitheater is a significant place for students and staff to meet and participate in various activities, especially during traditional or special events. It also serves as a hub for creativity, promoting learning and self-expression in a relaxed atmosphere. The most recent event held here was the Suranaree Agricultural Fair '67, from January 12-21, 2024. The amphitheater hosted animal competitions (such as for cattle and roosters), and the surrounding area featured numerous booths selling local products. In the evenings, there were performances from the Nakhon Ratchasima College of Dramatic Arts and the Western Music Club. Additionally, renowned national bands and artists entertained students, staff, and the general public free of charge.
