Staff accommodation at Suranaree University of Technology.

Suranaree University of Technology has provided housing for its personnel, named Sukhniwas Residence 1-8, located at 111 University Road, Suranaree Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, since 1990. The housing consists of: 93 staff houses (25 houses in 1990, 68 houses in 1994) for those with at least two dependents residing permanently or those accepted by the university to reside in staff housing. 80 twin-room housing units (32 rooms in 1991, 32 rooms in 1994, 16 rooms in 1995) for those with one dependent residing permanently or those accepted by the university to reside in staff housing. The single-room residential building, comprising 352 rooms (128 rooms in 1990, 128 rooms in 1994, and 96 rooms in 1995), is available for those who do not have dependents residing with them permanently, or for those whom the university has accepted into staff housing.

Eligibility and Regulations for University Staff Housing

Those eligible to apply for housing in university staff housing include personnel who meet one of the following criteria: Those with duties assigned by their university position or by the university that require them to work overtime regularly at the university location. Those experiencing hardship regarding housing or transportation within 30 kilometers or more of the university. Those who, or their spouse, do not own housing within 30 kilometers of the university. Those who have completed at least 5 semesters of service. In cases where an employee has completed less than 5 semesters but has an urgent need, a housing application should be submitted for consideration by the committee on a case-by-case basis. The university has appointed a staff housing oversight committee to manage and allocate housing to personnel as a welfare benefit, in accordance with the Suranaree University of Technology regulations on staff housing, B.E. 2556 (2013). In the fiscal year 2020, the university allocated a budget of 3,002,000 baht to renovate 15 houses (6 double rooms and 18 single rooms).
