SUT: Local authority collaboration regarding planning and development

The project involves the construction of a concrete road from Suranaree Gate to Kalayanamit Gate to improve transportation routes around the university.

The project involves the construction of a concrete road from Suranaree Gate to Kalayanamit Gate to improve transportation around the university. The road between Suranaree Gate (Gate 1) and Kalayanamit Gate (Gate 4) is currently a compacted crushed stone road used by students, staff, and the general public. It is in a dilapidated condition due to erosion and is impassable. The project will involve constructing a 6-meter wide concrete road over approximately 3 kilometers, including a drainage system and widening the entrance/exit to Kalayanamit Gate (Gate 4) to alleviate traffic congestion. The budget is 18,000,000 baht. For more details: https://web.sut.ac.th/dbg/

Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) engineering volunteers participated in a survey of high-rise buildings in Korat to enhance safety and promote sustainable urban development.

Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), through its volunteer engineering team from the Center of Excellence in Innovation for Sustainable Infrastructure Development, collaborated with local authorities and educational institutions in Nakhon Ratchasima province to survey and assess the condition of the high-rise building at Boonwattana School. This initiative supports urban infrastructure development and safety planning following the earthquake. The team of faculty and engineering students inspected cracks and damage to columns, beams, and floors to create technical data for analysis, diagnosis, and the development of safe and sustainable building maintenance measures. This reflects the effective collaboration between academic institutions and local authorities in urban planning and development.
