SUT welcomes UNIMAS representatives to discuss cooperation for sustainable development

    Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), represented by the Office of Academic Affairs, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, welcomed Prof. Ts. Dr. Shanti Faridah binti Salleh and Ts. Dr. Josephine Lai Chang Hui from the Institute of Sustainable and Renewable Energy (ISuRE), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Malaysia, on the occasion of their visit to SUT during 8-9 May 2024 to strengthen the relationship between the two universities and discuss academic collaboration, research and driving the university towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The discussion was held with Assistant Professor Dr. Pantip Piyatassanon, Assistant to the President for Academic Affairs, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Associate Professor Dr. Rapee Utke, Director of the Research and Development Institute, Lecturer Dr. Suphanee Chanphirom, Assistant Director of Technotani. The person in charge of the Greenhouse Gas Management Certification Body (Validation and Verification Body Unit: SUT VVB), Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirilak Chumkhieo, Head of the Community Relations Unit, Technopolis, Assistant Professor Dr. Wipawee Usahah, Director of the International Affairs Center, and Assistant Professor Dr. Thapanee Patcharawich, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Center, also visited the environmentally friendly management and sustainable development of SUT, such as the integrated waste management plant, the Center of Excellence in Biomass, and the Solar Floating Power Generation System on May 8, 2024.

    In addition, there was a special lecture, Special Talks on the topic of "Carbon Neutral and Net Zero" by Prof. Ts. Dr. Shanti Faridah binti Salleh and the topic of "Circular and Waste Management" by Ts. Dr. Josephine Lai Chang Hui, exchanging experiences in management towards carbon neutrality, net zero greenhouse gas emissions and waste management operations on May 9, 2024 at SUT co-working space, Suraphat Building 1, Technopolis, Suranaree University of Technology and via the online Zoom Meeting system.
